Continuing growth within the company and ongoing project award, has created this opportunity with our client’s global interior fit out company. This firm provide bespoke fitout services to the leisure and hotel sector and they now seek a Maintenance Manager to initiate, implement and manage their plant maintenance program. These projects comprise super yachts and five star hotels with production facilities of 4 factories covering 300,000 sq.m. with over 1,000 tradesmen.

You will be responsible for:

• Liaising with the Operations Department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
• Implementing and monitoring of QA policies and procedures.
• Assisting with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
• Maintaining and updating operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
• Ensuring that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures.
• Monitoring operation of plant equipment and systems to ensure optimal operating efficiency.
• Establishing and maintaining a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
• Preparing reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
• Supervises plant maintenance personnel.
• Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
• Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures and ensures UAE government regulations issued by Ministry of Civil Defense relating to the Prevention & Safety are met at all times.
• Implementing the safety program for the maintenance department and reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
• Coordinating activities with Plant Operations Departments.
• Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the Furniture/interiors manufacturing industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Monitors inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
• Maintains systems for monitoring and tracking service requests, preventive maintenance work performed, compliance with Hazard Communications program requirements, compliance with safety requirements, supplies and parts inventories, purchases, and turn-key operations work according to required purchasing and bidding procedures
• Working with Production Managers to conduct regular on-site safety meetings and ensures compliance with all federal, and local safety regulations, including OSHA, Workers’ Compensation and ensures that all hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored and handled properly.
• Ensures adherence to company safety standards, policies and procedures.
• Maintains property map that clearly identifies all utility cut-offs, the location of hydrants, gas mains and any other property safety information.

Requirements

The attributes we seek for this successful candidate include:

• Relevant degree in a related technical field or certificate or diploma from trade school in related field.
• Must have 10 to 15 years of experience in maintenance work of plant, machinery for interiors / furniture manufacturing industry.
• Must have experience with repairs and maintenance of processing equipment.
• Proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets and must have the ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Strong leadership abilities as a Manager with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Expatriate experience in the Middle East will be highly regarded.
