Maintenance Officer/Supervisor

Job description / Role

- To assist the Maintenance head in the maintenance of the various equipments such as lifting equipments, forklifts, compressors, generators, chain blocks etc. in the yard;
- To lead and supervise the workers in the daily upkeep, maintenance and updating of the calibrations and certification by independent parties in the maintenance log book;
- To ensure that all equipment and yard facilities are maintained in good conditions for use in the execution of the work for ship building and repairs;
- To requisite, procure and ensure sufficient tools, equipment, spare parts are kept to support the daily operations.

Requirements

- A diploma/high school certificate with at least five (5) years direct working experience in shipbuilding or offshore industry with minimum 2 years in supervisory position;
- Understand and able read technical specifications and manuals of various plant and machinery and carry out maintenance/repairs of the equipment;
- Able to co-ordinate with vendor or supplier in technical matter;
- Effective analysis and problem solving skills;
- Knowledge and ability to use computer is preferred;
- Good command of English and Azeri (preferred but not necessary)

About the Company

Baku Shipyard LLC joint venture was founded on May 10, 2011 under the laws of Azerbaijan with State Oil Company of Azerbaijan owning 65%, Azerbaijan Investment Company 25%, and Keppel Offshore Marine 10%, has developed and put into operation the most modern shipbuilding and ship repair facility in the Caspian Sea. Main activity of the Baku Shipyard consists of the construction of a variety of vessels ranging from offshore support vessels, general cargo vessels, tug boats, crane vessels, specialized vessels and passengers vessels to tankers. The yard also undertakes ship repair and conversion of such vessels.
