Job description / Role
The Client, a large Family Group are looking for a maintenance supervisor for their real estate division.
The aim of this role is;
- To ensure proper maintenance of equipments and be responsible for inspecting the building to identify maintenance issues, such as clogged drains, leaky ceilings and faulty electrical switches and ensuring compliance as per authorities.
- To maintain the facilities in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness, and safety.
- To supervise maintenance personnel whose major responsibility is to provide a safe,attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient building.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assign, coordinate, evaluate and direct the work of skilled, semiskilled and unskilled staff performing building maintenance and repair activities;
- Examines buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Regular checks buildings on weekends and holidays.
- Establishes and recommends priority repair to the Operations Manager.
- Plans and oversees all maintenance and repair work and develops an efficient system for dealing with emergency repair problems.
- Consults with Operations Manager regarding the establishment of a regular preventative maintenance program
- Supervises and participates in necessary painting and general repairs to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, windows, and general mechanical areas.
- Assists general mechanics in remodeling and renovation work.
- Supervises and participates in the general cleaning and maintenance of the buildings.
- Orders materials as needed, and makes recommendations of supplies and equipment for purchase with the approval of Operations Manager and maintains necessary inventories.
- Performs maintenance work and emergency repair services as necessary/required
- Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair with maintenance staff.
- Maintains records and prepares reports
The Job Holder may be required to undertake additional duties, which may be reasonably expected and forms part of the function of the job.
Requirements
- Diploma in building maintenance or facility management
- 2-4 years in building maintenance in various sectors
This position will report to operations manager.
