Makeup Artist

Job description / Role

Make-up artist is responsible for creating new looks for different personalities. He/she should have the ability to study face structures of different individuals and apply makeup to achieve the kind of look needed by the clients.

- Applies makeup to clients using a color palette and different tools such as mascara, sponges, eyebrow shapers, lip liners, brushes, and applicators.
- Works and adheres with client requests to create various looks.
- Applies makeup for big events including weddings, funerals, holidays, and outings.
- Applies touchups as necessary.
- Uses photographs or models for reference when consulting with clients on ideal look.
- Ensures makeup looks natural and well-applied under different lighting.
- Matches skin color to color palettes to determine best looks.
- Suggests skin care routines.
- Works quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Wipes off makeup and reapply if client is unsatisfied.
- Maintains awareness of health and safety issues and legislation

Requirements

- University degree or a diploma in Make-up and Fashion.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in make-up application.
- A creative individual.
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Patient , always focused and the ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail
- Always punctual and reliable and honest.
- Flexible and willingness to work long hours when necessary.
- A strong team player.
- Always aware and follows latest fashion & make-up trends.
