The Role


The Role


Major national law firm is wishing to recruit a qualified Accountant with at least 6 years post qualification experience in a similar role. You will work in close liaison with the Finance Manager, produce all ATCO P&L and management reports.
Some of the duties include:
• Assist Finance Manager with inter-Firm reconciliation processes and the analysis of variances
•Assist Finance Manager in the assessment of the annual cost estimates and in monitoring of the budget; provide focus upon cost performance
•Oversee Cost Controller function to ensure that work is completed according to firm policy and procedures and in a timely manner
•Address issues and concerns raised by Cost Controller and escalate them to Finance Manager if necessary
•Assist with the preparation of monthly standard journals and produce detailed monthly management accounts
•Produce all financial reports including but not limited to monthly management reports, debtors report and billing report
•Help to provide support and financial evaluation of any cost saving and efficiency initiatives as required
•Conduct performance review meetings with direct reports to evaluate performance
You will also be coordinating, and monitoring the activities of the Cost Controller so supervisory experience is also advantageous.

Requirements

Minimum BA in Finance / Accountancy and CPA highly desirable

Knowledge:
•Knowledge of accountancy with minimum occurrence of error
•Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications. Knowledge of financial applications.

Skills:
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
•Good planning and organisation skills to meet deadlines

Abilities:
•Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
•Ability to adapt to and work within the firm’s culture
•Ability to maintain cooperative and effective working relationship with employees at all levels
