The RoleThe RoleManage the Operation, Maintenance, Trouble shooting & System administration of the mission critical systems such as AFL, ALCS, VDGS & GOS to ensure the smooth, uninterrupted & safe operation of the Aerodrome Visual Navigational Systems. Develop and implement the quality management & safety management system programs to ensure compliance with directorate’s ISO 9001-2000 quality standard requirements & GCAA/ICAO regulatory requirements. Prepare documentation/ manuals related to the airfield lighting & control system or other visual navigational aids for regulatory approvals or certification by GCAA. Maintain updated knowledge of technological developments in the related field, Develop & review the system operation & backup strategy & Perform Safety assessment for the related systems or procedures, in order to establish effective system operational management, disaster recovery management and emergency contingency plans. Generate regular statistical & executive reports to brief senior management about section’s Service Enhancements, Product Innovations, Competency Development, Positive Contribution and System Performance. Develop, review & ensure management approvals for the training manuals, technical documentation & operational procedures to support day-to-day operations, change management, growth & training needs. Execute the induction & training programs for national workforce, new staff & summer trainees in line with the departmental goals. Prepare, monitor & control the annual budget of expenditure to ensure cost effective operation of the section. Technically liaise with Engineering Projects, Participate in the regular meetings and oversee the testing & commissioning activities related to the ongoing projects to ensure meeting specification requirements & smooth transition of the operation and maintenance responsibilities. |
RequirementsRequirementsFunctional knowledge of UNIX [Preferably Solaris], WINDOWS-2003 Operating environment, TCP/IP standards based applications, ORACLE or SQL Database System, Object Oriented Programming and Management of large data network systems. Certification in the development of Expert Control System Application / Experience with expert control system environments, comprising multiple systems delivering mission-critical applications. Advanced troubleshooting skills and ability to understand complex relationships between components of a multi-tiered, distributed control system.Knowledge of design, installation, modification and maintenance of Airfield Lighting facilities.Knowledge of industrial computers & communication systems & experienced in the handling of aircraft safety related systems.Strong knowledge of the regulatory standards [ICAO/GCAA] and international best practices in the related field.Knowledge of wave carrier technology used for communications using high voltage airfield lighting cables. Able to write technical specifications and operational documentation. Holder of Valid UAE driving license. Good oral & written communication skills in English. |
