The RoleThe Role*To develop the overall local strategy and direction for the local air freight forwarding teams in accordance and alignment with the country strategy. *To make sound, logical decisions pertaining to the day-to-day activities for the air freight department, consulting with senior management when necessary. *To oversee locally the development of new air freight business, including the commercial policy and future strategic business direction. *To ensure that costs are booked correctly, and RTC are informed of any change in air freight rates, FSC and other surcharges. *Reporting for the air freight department *To ensure correct use of the eFreight information system to support the needs of the business. *To regularly review the local air freight commercial proposition (proposals, contracts pricing structure etc.) and ensure that these are updated to reflect developments in Logistica/Enkay Express service offer / client requirements / industry standards. *Negotiate the buying and selling rates for air freight import/export with airlines and agents. *To coordinate with senior members of governmental, DCA, the Airlines, handlers like DNATA and other official bodies to ensure that our operational costs decrease and that our operation complies as per the regulations & rules of United Arab Emirates. |
RequirementsRequirementsA graduate with at least 4 years experience managing within the air freight industry achieving operational delivery, as well as understanding freight forwarding trends and customs procedures in the Middle East and related markets. Industry Knowledge: •Knowledge of the air freight industry and broad understanding of market dynamics and market competitors. •Experience in providing air freight forwarding solutions including warehousing, short-term inventory management and transportation service provision. Skills: •Leadership and motivation skills •Excellent management and communication skills •High level negotiation skills •Customer management / relationship building skills •Knowledge of current freight forwarding management practice •Ability to apply creativity and innovation to new business development •Can recognize and secure business opportunities. |
