Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Planning, Update, Testing and Maintenance of Business Continuity plans to ensure firm wide smooth business continuity.

Main Duties:
Assist in the management and development of all elements of the BCM cycle.
Create and implement tactical BCP plans in line with strategic objectives.
Accountability for Business Continuity plan review and updates and to facilitate review.
Accountability for Training and Awareness on safety measures to help embed a safety culture across CBI and enable staff embrace the new culture.
Ensure adequate controls are in place to uphold business continuity safety measures.
Make appropriate recommendations to existing continuity plans and recovery routines.
Assist with co-ordination of Business Continuity tasks of other departments.
Accountable to ensure that change management is closely linked with BCP where relevant plans are reviewed and updated accordingly after risk assessment.
Work closely with IS, Technology and administrative departments covering BCP interest of the bank
Accountable for arranging and facilitating testing tasks and remedial actions for critical tasks.
Perform duties and responsibilities as outlined in CBIs Business Continuity Policy.
Periodically reporting to the higher management on plans, progress and projections on BCP.
Discuss BCP measures with business units and conduct periodic review on their continuity plans.
Carry out BCP marshal training, conduct a knowledge assessment, identify and close gaps if any.

Other tasks and responsibilities;

Attend relevant business meetings held with various committees of the bank to discuss BCP initiatives and timely organizing of BCP related tasks.
Coordinate with vendors and third party service providers as required to accomplish BCP related responsibilities.
Manage relationships with stakeholders across the bank, vendors and third party service providers.
Provide recommendations on BCP/Risk as and when required (systems enhancement, products, process changes etc).
Provide ad hoc reports and status updates as and when required or deemed necessary by the higher management.

Requirements

Completion of a Bachelors / Masters degree in Business Management. Major certifications in numerous facets of Information Technology and is currently in pursuit of relevant certifications. irisk and oManagement.

Diploma in IT (British Computer Society).

20+ years of Experience (9 years on Information technology and 11+ years in banking).
