The RoleThe RoleKGH Solutions seeks to recruit for its client, a large Local Bank a Card Risk Manager for its Credit Card Business. Job Purpose: Responsible for the smooth functioning of the Card Risk & Business MIS Unit, to design and develop all MIS related to the Credit Cards business and advise management of underlying "Risk" & "Growth" areas to facilitate appropriate policy changes. Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 1. Work closely with Head of Cards & Business Strategy, Head of PB Credit to formulate the cards policy to facilitate business growth and effective Risk Management. 2. Work closely with Head of Cards & Business Strategy, Head of PB Credit to devise policies / guidelines for various Cards programs, like Pre-approved lists for cross-sell, Limit Increase Program for Good Boy customers, introduction of new target segments, etc. in order to facilitate increase in CIF, ANR growth and profitability. 3. Identify and manage potential risk areas in the Credit Initiation Process by establishing appropriate controls and ensuring compliance with laid down procedures. 4. Ensure that all card applications and customer requests received for processing are processed as per delegated authority and are in accordance with Cards PPG. 5. Develop and monitor the Credit Initiation Process and recommend improvements for effective processing for large volume of applications within the agreed SLA. 6. Recommend new and innovative measures in terms of processes, productivity and system enhancements to improve portfolio quality and turnaround time. 7. Identify potential growth areas and segments based on portfolio analysis and market trends. 8. Design and develop comprehensive MIS reporting pack for Credit Cards to facilitate prudent Risk management of credit card portfolio. 9. Recommend and follow-up system change requests to meet changing business needs to improve risk management and liase with respective unit managers, as required. 10. Channel feedback on credit policies, target segment, quality of applications received, and deviations to Branches and Sales Force on a regular basis. 11. Ensure adequate staffing at all times and maintain a high level of motivation and performance amongst the Business MIS & Card Risk Unit staff. 12. Approve Card applications and limit increase requests of customers and Business as Usual customers as per delegated authority. 13. Authorise booking / processing of BAU and Pre-Approved applications and customer service requests after ensuring that they are approved as per delegated authority and is in accordance with the credit policy for Cards. 14. Maximise profitability by ensuring that operations in the Unit are always carried out with maximum efficiency, security and control. 15. Act as one of the joint custodian for Cards related Encryption Keys Occasional Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Keep the Senior Manager, Cards & Business Strategy advised of material credit / operational weakness and non-compliance with controls that affect portfolio quality. Provide support and feedback for developing and implementing the Credit Scoring Model for effective processing of Credit Card Applications Ensure all MIS reports to internal departments and external agencies are submitted within the stipulated deadlines. Provide support to Marketing / Product Development Team by generating the required MIS and thereby increasing the effectiveness of Marketing Programs. Address any internal / external audit findings / recommendations. Impart Cards related training to DSAs, Phone banking and Branch staff in order to keep them up-to-date with the Cards policy and to enable them to provide quality service to the customers Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of all relevant banking products, procedures & polices. Share knowledge / experience of processing credit card applications with PB Credit. Work closely with all staff in Card Centre to ensure smooth processing and provide feedback. |
RequirementsRequirementsProblem Solving / Complexity / Innovation: Ability to understand the card Credit policy and interpret the policy in the interest of the Bank. Ability to apply good analytical skills while reviewing card applications and establish their suitability against credit policy. Develop appropriate risk control systems. Ability to identify fraud applications, and take necessary steps to protect Bank's interests. People and Change Management skills and effectively maintain internal / external relationships. Identify and analyse problem areas, find creative solutions to process / control issues. Understand and adapt to changing technological advances in credit cards industry. Ability to handle exceptional processes / large volume of business and maintain service delivery. Decision Making / Authority: Authority to approve New Card Applications as per delegated authority To authorise bookings of New card applications and processing of customer requests as per policy and delegated authority. Suggest credit / operational improvements and system enhancements Take day-to-day decisions on work planning based on daily processing volumes in the unit. Competency Level: Education level required : University degree or equivalent qualification. Strong PC skills with knowledge of MIS office and MIS reporting tools. Experience: At least 5 years experience in Credit related functions in credit cards, with a through knowledge of Credit Policies preferably in the UAE market with proven track record. At least 5 years experience in Card Centre with a very good understanding of credit cards business and MIS reporting functions in Credit Cards.
