The Role


Based in Doha, Qatar, Sidra Medical and Research Center will be the Middle East's first academic medical center designed to the best international standards. Scheduled to open in early 2013, Sidra will provide world class, patient-focused, clinical services for women and children, medical education, and biomedical research in an ultra-modern, all-digital facility.Under the direction of the Senior Clinical Planning Consultant for Perioperative Services, the Manager for Cardiac & Non Invasive services has responsibility for providing consultation on detailed project planning,education programming and commissioning activities, as well as collaborating with other departments regarding the planning of patient care activities, unit operations and staff development. The Manager for Cardiac & Non Invasive services ensures that recruiting, commissioning, on-boarding, orientation and service activation responsibilities are carried out in accordance with project plans and time lines, which may extend into hospital operations.

1. Accountable & responsible for the detailed planning activities within Cardiac & Non Invasive Services and the Hybrid OR suites as part of the transition from planning to fully operational service2. Provides detailed planning for financial management and workflow within the Cardiac & Non Invasive Labs and Hybrid OR suites3. Provides planning for procurement of consumables and specialized equipment and instrumentation for Cardiac and Non Invasive Services4. Acts as a clinical resource for the integrated IT build.5. Ensures that operational policy for all aspects of Non-Invasive Cardiac services inclusive of Physiology/Radiography/Nursing and Physicians is incorporated and implemented into IT solutions.6. Is responsible for development, and planning of the organizational activities Cardiac and Non Invasive Services, including staffing/recruitment and budget formulation and management.7. Works with internal and external project teams to provide informed and comprehensive expertise regarding  Non-Invasive Cardiology programs8. Researches best practices for Non-Invasive Cardiology and presents information and recommendations to the Senior. Planning Consultant for Perioperative Services.9. Provides ongoing updates and recommendations to the Senior Planning Consultant for Perioperative Services on progress and high risk tasks associated with Invasive Cardiology and programs.10. Develops and supports on-going strategic initiatives by ensuring the appropriate personnel, equipment, and regulatory requirements are available for program activation11. Acts as training resource for IT and equipment related training to Cardiac and Non- Invasive Labs staff12. Assists with relevant commissioning activities in area of expertise.13. In view of the developing and changing needs and opportunities within Sidra during this start-up phase, this position may perform other duties as assigned14. As the project moves toward opening, the duties of the position will be revised. The post holder will be kept appraised regarding development of the operational role and will be consulted as necessary regarding the job transition. The current post holder may transition into the new role following an appropriate selection process.ESSENTIAL* Bachelors Degree in clinical physiology and 5 years relevant Managerial experience* Clinical experience to include pediatric cardiology (Interventional or Non Invasive)Certification in echocardiography* Registered Clinical Physiologist* Experience with Clinical Information systems either as an end user, super user or build contributor.* Demonstrated knowledge and use of Cardiovascular Information systems, either as an end user, super user or CIS build contributor.Evidence of ability to lead a multidisciplinary team through change.* Demonstrated expertise in management activities (Tendering, ordering, budget formulation and analysis, succession planning, Clinical Governance* Experience organizing data, generating accurate & timely reports.* Demonstrated proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office suite.* Able to provide planning expertise in a range of specialist cardiac procedures, including all aspects of interventional cardiology.* Demonstrates knowledge of best practices in the field of Invasive Cardiology.* Fluency in written and spoken English. DESIRABLE* Masters Degree in healthcare or Management with demonstrated Invasive clinical experience in both electrophysiology and structural heart.* Experience with Joint Commission (JCI) International surveys and familiarity with JCI Standards.* ECDL IT certification.* Experience of planning and working in Hybrid/OR suite. * Demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically.* Arabic language skills
