The RoleThe RoleThe purpose of this position is to certify the technical work, supervise and schedule the maintenance, design, build, repair, modification, installation and construction for projects for the carpentry division. Responsibilities Plan and schedule projects, estimate time and materials, supervise subordinates, maintains records and file, and prepares reports. Manages records of carpenters time and materials used for each job. Supervises carpentry jobs requiring a high degree of skill and provide expertise on major contracts. Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules, priority of carpentry expenditures and procedures for equipment maintenance. Trains and informs supervisors and employees of new work methodology, procedures, changes in safety regulations, work policies and construction codes. Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes shop expenditures and assists in preparation of budgets. Maintaining all required supply levels for the department and signing/authorizing all purchase orders for supplies needed. Assisting and communicating with sub-contractors. |
RequirementsRequirements Graduation from high school and technical school or college with extensive experience in carpentry work including some supervisory and management experience. A minimum of 5-7 years working experience in the carpentry trade. Knowledge of computer operation. Knowledge of the latest tools, equipment and materials common to the carpentry trade. Skill in the construction , repair, restoration and installation of wood or related materials. Skill in estimating time and material requirements of work projects assigned. Skill in supervising the work of others. Ability of effectively communicate in English, Arabic or other Far Eastern languages Developed supervisory skills and abilities. A valid UAE drivers license. |
