Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:

• Develop and implement Regulatory Compliance Program

• Training staff on Compliance requirements and Anti-Money Laundering

• Ensuring Corrective Action Plan is implemented for all outstanding audit issues

• Handle all new projects that are initiated by Compliance

• Effectively manage internal stakeholder (business units) relationships.

Main Task/ Responsibilities:

• Compliance Assurance

- Develop a Regulatory Compliance Program for the organization
- Update the Compliance Obligations’ metrics in line with change in external regulations and internal policies
- Perform Compliance Assurance check on all business units periodically and report significant issues to the Head of Compliance
- Interact with the Internal Audit team and ensure Corrective Action Plan for all outstanding issues are closed on time

• Training

- Develop both class room and electronic training programs for the client's employees
- Conduct training programs for staff as necessary
- Maintain a schedule for all those who attended training.

• Compliance

- Reviewing new regulations and working with the business to ensure compliance, while taking appropriate actions to ensure the business complies with new and/or amended regulations, through development of policies & business procedures, consistent with regulatory & business standards.
- Drafting & updating compliance policies and procedures.
- Assisting the business and providing advice and consultation on regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring that all business groups are aware of domestic and internal regulations
- Identifying compliance deficiencies, along with corrective action plan.
- Meeting all regulatory reporting requirements and record keeping.
- Providing training as well as developing training materials (AML, KYC & Compliance related) & have the same circulated to enhance general AML & Compliance awareness & culture within the business.
o Performing special projects or research as necessary.

• Implementation of FATCA requirements

- Handling project for FATAC Compliance as per the implementation timetable.
- Management of the FATCA steering group
- Administration of FATCA programme (updates and reporting)
- Identify and assess potential impact of FATCA regulations on the Bank’s existing clients, processes, systems,…etc and ensure preparation of an implementation plan for mitigating potential risks associated with the new regulation.
- Executing the plan including identification of clients and transactions and extraction of relevant data.
- Develop understanding of key issues, activities of underlying projects and work streams
- Work with all stakeholders i.e. Business, Operations, Finance, Legal
- Employ active programme planning, issue resolution and risk mitigation methods to aid delivery, leveraging the tools and techniques available to implement FATCA requirements
- Prepare report for submission under FATCA
- Provide periodic MIS & management reporting
- Build network of key contacts in the UAE in order to share the best practices of the industry.

• Leadership & People Management

- Lead & motivate the team and ensure proper task distribution.
- Build team awareness of the unit’s objective and the bank’s requirements towards central bank.
- Provide overall guidance and assistance to the team.
- Conduct quarterly performance evaluation and identify areas, developments and training requirements.
- Encourage, recognize and reward high performers.

• Internal & External Customer Satisfaction

- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships/connections internally and externally.
- Continuously monitor & assess the efficiency of team performance in regards to internal/external customer expectation, turn around time, information exchange and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to deadlines and reporting.
- Undertakes similar or related tasks or duties as directed by management.
- Works to established time frames and action frameworks to ensure that all reporting processes are carried out in the established sequence and in the required timeframes.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

Minimum Education Level:
University Degree

Professional Qualification:
• Varied experience in branch banking, retail and corporate banking, operations etc.
• Knowledge of the country’s central bank regulations & money laundering legislations.
• Familiar with banking rules/regulations of the country.
• Certified Compliance Officer &/Or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist

Experience:
• Minimum 10 years experience in the banking/financial services sector with exposure to banking transactions and supervisory responsibilities, additionally with at least 5 years of experience in the compliance environment. Prior experience in FATCA compliance an advantage.
