Job Description

- Overall responsibility and accountability for management and supervision of assigned CIC portfolio, including ensuring that direct reports are performing documentation preparation, review and perfection activities for assigned CIC portfolio in accordance with the requirements of the Global CRC Departmental Operating Instructions and relevant Country Addenda as amended from time to time.
- Undertake documentation checking and review responsibilities in accordance with the requirements of the Global CRC Departmental Operating Instructions and relevant Country Addenda as amended from time to time.
- Take a leading role in implementing the CRC MENAP team and CRC Group agenda
- Implement day-to-day work practices that promote CRC MENAP as a global centre of excellence

Risk Management

- Take a leading role in ensuring that the Unit in general, and assigned reports in particular, are:
- Operating in accordance with prescribed policies, processes and guidelines at all times.
- Audit-ready at all times, and preparation and ongoing management of internal and external reviews and Audits.
- All processes are well documented and risks in process are identified, reviewed and appropriately escalated to regional management, and that wherever practicable, necessary mitigants are in place
- Drive consistency in work practices and approach amongst all assigned direct reports and across the CRC team as a whole.
- Participate in development and improvement of departmental guides and process notes.
- Attend risk and governance forums relevant to assigned portfolio as required, or if designated.
- Ensure EAR documentation reviews are completed within stipulated timelines.
- Support Operational Risk Management framework through:
- Participation in assessment of Key Control Standards,
- Reporting of operational risks and losses in Phoenix.
- Escalation of material issues to Unit Head for presentation in CIC BORF

People Management and Teamwork

- Ensure that direct reports are performing documentation preparation, review and perfection activities for assigned CIC portfolio in accordance with the requirements of the Global CRC Departmental Operating Instructions and relevant Country Addenda as amended from time to time.
- Continuously monitor assigned reports' work, provide guidance and direction to direct reports, and follow-through on instances of non performance.
- Promote fair accountability principles amongst direct reports and across the CRC MENAP team
- Collaborate with fellow team members and managers to implement CRC MENAP team and CRC Group agenda.
- Motivate the team to achieve optimal results in all their activities.
- Ensure that policy changes are clearly and efficiently communicated to CRC team members and that adequate and sufficient guidance is provided
- Recommend and develop HIPO's within CRC function.
- Ensure an effective backup strategy and succession plan is in place for the team.
- Demonstrate high commitment to coach, train and mentor team members.
- Promote work-life balance across the Team.

Stakeholder Management

- Develop a close working relationship with all key stakeholders including CIC, Legal, Credit, and Group CRC.
- Deliver, and ensure that all assigned reports deliver, services to stakeholders in a clear, concise and efficient manner in accordance with the CRC Global Service Standards.
- Provide clear & timely response to stakeholder inquiries (both internal & external).

Effective MIS

- For assigned portfolios, ensure completeness & accuracy of all data that feeds into CRC MENAP and Group MIS, including:
- Participate and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving MIS quality from the Unit
- All submissions i.e. DAT/Capacity Planning/KRI are subject to Audit review so ensure that the basis of all input is readily available upon request.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

- At least 3 years of functional experience in Credit Documentation, Credit Administration and Risk
- Broad understanding of financial services, infrastructure MIS and operational processes
- Good knowledge and grasp of Standard Chartered's CIC and Commercial Clients business and related policies, and the applicable regulatory framework that governs the CRC activities
- Excellent analytical capability and attention to detail
- Strong engagement and communication skills, and the ability to interact and interface with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work with multi-cultural teams in an effective manner
- Skills in project management and process improvement
