Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To manage and lead the Branch’s credit department. To sanction credit proposals in compliance with credit policy, Local credit directives and to ensure effective credit risk management. To manage and protect the credit portfolio.

Responsibilities:

Strategic:
Monitor market trends and apply insight to credit policy and credit appetite
The Custodian of the credit policy and procedures
Develop the overall credit capability through people, information and technology
Support new product development through taking leading role on credit risk assessment

Operational:
Ensure all credit applications comply with internal policies, procedures and processes
Work closely with business development, the branch manager to develop a pro active approach to doing business
Visit customers from time to time and prepare reports
Execute credit analysis and sanctioning within appropriate business timescales
Co-sanction credit applications within delegated authority levels
Review credit related returns and reports.
Monitor and identify significant customer risks, deviations of management control from acceptable credit standards and ensure appropriate action is taken
Ensure compliance with local directives and KSA anti-money laundering practices
Add value to deal structuring (pricing, product, purpose, risk mitigation, etc.)
Ensure quality of the credit asset portfolio by analytical credit assessment and acceptable risk criteria
Identify trends in credit quality and develop suitable action plans
Analyse credit portfolio to identify undue concentration of risk (i.e. industry, geographic) and develop appropriate action plans
Proactively work with the UAE credit team to transfer “best practices” to ensure efficiency in risk management
Review delinquent loan portfolio in conjunction with the Head of Collections.
Advise on external and general business conditions to business units on macro environmental factors likely to affect credit quality
Develops appropriate credit / lending strategies

People Management:
The initial goal will be to establish the Department and then build a team as the business grows

Requirements

7-10 years credit experience
Strong ability to read financial accounts
Solid educational background, preferably to Masters level
Skills in data analysis and manipulation
High level of attention to detail
