The primary objective of the role is to set-up, develop and run the sustainability business primarily dealing with energy management, conservation and trading.

• In-house establishment of Best practices and systems for energy management within Al Futtaim Group properties to obtain energy savings with the eventual goal of carbon trading
• Develop the business with external clients: Develop analytical approaches, tailor best practices, collect data, provide analytical guidance, develop best practices, develop and implement methodologies, communicate value proposition to clients

Requirements

To be successful in winning this role, must have the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or environmental science, or related engineering technology. Post graduate qualification business management is preferable.
• Certification in related field with emphasis on facilities management. Professional designation of Certified Energy Manager preferred.
• Sound experience in energy management, systems design, construction, and/or maintenance
• Knowledge of energy management program development
• Knowledge of building automation systems and city management systems
• Knowledge of Green building standards
• Experience with renewable energy and alternate financing
• Knowledge of utility rate/tariff structures
• Experience conducting energy audits
• Experience developing & implementing energy savings and efficiencies, energy conservation & performance contract projects
• Documented ability to achieve substantial energy savings in facility management
• Certification such as LEED
• Knowledge of energy legislations and policies; Renewable energy, technical and functional engineering and design, Carbon trading
• Policy development, advisory and communication
• Risk management, audit and compliance
