International Shipyard Operator
Tax Free Salary package up to US$98,000 + family tickets + family medical
Based in the UAE

A challenging opportunity now exists with a major shipyard operator. They are currently seeking to hire an experienced Manager - Engineering. This role is based in Dubai, UAE.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall activities of the Engineering Department.

In order to be considered, you must have relevant Engineering Management experience in large ship repair yards with conversion and new building facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Effective and efficient operation of the Department.
• Liaising with customer representative to satisfy their needs
• Ensuring jobs undertaken by the Department are accomplished in a professional manner and with emphasis on Safety, quality, environment & cost effective.
• Liaises with Project Managers / SRM's / Commercial department for job planning.
• Set & achieve productivity targets.
• Control of consumable budget and Capex requirements.
• Ensuring optimum use of resources, equipment and manpower.
• Liaising with customer representative to satisfy their needs
• Implement and review the department processes for continual improvement.
• Provide on the job training to the subordinates and succession plan within the department.
• Implement and monitor OH&S, Environment and Quality Management System.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head.

Requirements

• Must have qualifications in Naval Architecture / Mechanical or Marine Engineering
• Must have relevant management experience in a large ship repair yard with conversion and new building facilities
• Sound knowledge and experience in engineering drawings and offshore steel structures.
• Previous managerial experience
• Very good Planning and Organising skills
• Must have good English communication skills
