Manager Environmental Management - Qatar Airways - Doha

The purpose of the role is to establish and maintain Qatar-Airways (QR) Group-wide environmental management framework and inspire business units to continually improve environmental performance.

The role exists to lead business units (including airline, airport and subsidiary companies) to adopt leading environmental management practices and assure QR that risks are controlled. As a part of the role, you will work with senior management to ensure that environment is an integral part of decision making and is closely linked to the organisations corporate objectives, key performance indicators and risk management framework.

As Manager Environmental Management, you will review the environmental impacts associated with QRs operations and recommend group-wide environmental objectives and performance targets for adoption by the business. You will specify performance management procedures, competence requirements, training interventions and audit and assurance arrangements.

Key aspect of this role involve forecasting QRs environmental performance and evaluating the companys ability to meet its medium and long term environmental targets. You will lead the preparation of environmental data and case study material for QRs internal and external reporting requirements.

You will be accountable for identifying and scoping strategic interventions, significant investments and 3rd party collaborations which offer the potential to deliver step change improvements in QRs environmental performance.

Requirements

You must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an environmental, physical science or engineering subject along with a minimum of 8 years of job related experience. You should have membership from a recognised environmental management association and have a professional qualification in environmental management.

Experience in the implementation of ISO 14001 and delivering sustained change within large organizations is required, preferably in the airline or airport industry. Experience in the design and implementation of environment audits is an asset.

We are looking for a proactive, dynamic and passionate individual with excellent commercial and communication skills that is focused on results and works well under pressure. You must have strong project management and stakeholder management skills and ability to translate legislation and regulation into business standards and process.
