Manager Environmental Standards - Qatar Airways - Doha

The purpose of the role is to manage the development of Qatar Airways (QR) Groupwide Environmental Management System and influence business leaders to develop effective local solutions which contribute towards QRs environmental goals.

The role exist to evaluate the environmental impacts across QR, contribute towards the development of group-wide environmental objectives and performance targets and establish environmental management systems throughout QRs business units.

As a Manager Environmental Standards, you will prepare corporate standards across key environmental impact areas, including waste, water quality, water and energy consumption, air quality and wildlife. You will review and evaluate the range and scale of environmental impacts across QRs business units and design local operating procedures to manage environmental risks.

As a part of the role, you will validate the impact of operational procedures in mitigating environmental risks, collate performance data and advise on commercially optimal short, medium and long term performance targets. You will also contribute towards the development and delivery of environmental training and provide the case study material for QRs internal and external reporting.

Requirements

You must have a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in physical science or engineering subject, a membership of a recognised Environmental Management professional body or a professional qualification in environmental management along with a minimum of 7 years of job related experience, preferably in an airline industry in an environmental role.

You must have prior managerial role with significant experience influencing senior and technical level stakeholders and a proven track record delivering sustained change within large organisations.

We are looking for proactive, dynamic and passionate individuals with excellent commercial and communication skills that are focused on results and works well under pressure. An extensive knowledge of ISO14001 is a must along with strong project management skills and the ability to interpret legislation and regulation into business standards and process. Waste, energy and water management within a facilities management context experience would be an asset.
