The Role


Objective of the role:

1. Responsible for timely closing of monthly accounts and generation of monthly MI Finance pack with accurate details and analysis
2. Review / completion of all GHQ Finance and GRCA returns.
3. Review / completion of all GR reporting requirements with detailed analysis and commentary.
4. Assist to coordinate, prepare, review and analysis of the Rolling Operating Plan (ROP) and Profit Estimates of GSC Egypt
5. Assist in pricing estimates, financial modeling and simulation to ensure tax margin is achieved based on changes in initial assumptions and migration plans
6. Liaison with external auditors, tax agents and company secretary for GSC Egypt statutory reports and tax returns respectively

Job Description:

• Timely and accurate reporting and reconciliations for all GSC Egypt financial reports and returns (local, GR and GHQ requirements).
• Rolling Operating Plans and Latest Estimates.
• Pricing reviews financial modeling and margin simulation to ensure tax margin is achieved as planned.
• Liaison with external auditors, tax agents and company secretary for statutory audit reports and all required tax & secretarial returns for GSC Egypt.
• Intercompany confirmation and co-ordination.
• Co-ordinate monthly closing with related departments in GSC Egypt
• Ensure proper controls, efficient processes and systems within Finance reporting function

Management of Risk (GHR / FIM requirements)

To abide by the Group Compliance Policy by containing compliance risk in conjunction with the relevant Compliance Department. The term compliance embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business has to apply.
To continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructures, and the impact of new technology in conjunction with the donor Group companies.

Major Challenges

• Entity is a new set up and the processes, systems and policies need to be established and refined overtime from a finance operations and reporting perspective.
• Ensuring production of timely, accurate and meaningful information / reports that is useful for decision making in meeting all internal and external deadlines whilst providing on the job training to new team members.
• Understanding of changes in accounting standards and HSBC Group Finance FIMs & accounting policies and the impact the changes have to the financial reports
• Management of outsourced FTE in HDPI – GFO / SMO

• AVP Finance and Financial Controller of GSC Egypt

Role Dimensions

• GSC Egypt Balance Sheet > USD1.6 million worth of assets, Revenue & cost of > USD5 million respectively

Requirements


Requirements


• Minimum degree holder with approximately 3-4 years of post qualification experience in Management Reporting and Business Support department of a reputed company and audit/consulting environment.
• Strong Analytical skills & financial modeling skills
• Team work, strong communications and presentation skills
• Adequate knowledge of Accounting Standards and accounting principles
• Knowledge in systems, processes and policies/procedures are a must.
