The RoleThe RoleMy client - a large financial institution based in Abu Dhabi requires an IT Operations Team Leader to ensure the 24/7 smooth operation activities of the company. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems. • To ensure maximum uptime for all application and systems in the data centre. • Maintenance and monitoring of all the Live Applications and Systems in the Data Centre. • Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer • systems operations and development. • Monitor and maintain Technology Operation to ensure maximum access • The ITOPS Manager may have to manage a number of operation related projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of applications. The ITOPS Manager may find the environment to be busy, noisy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks. • Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software. • Oversees entire Operations team, production and work/shift schedules, suggests adjustments to the schedule as appropriate. • Documents any problems or abnormalities that occur per documentation guidelines and takes appropriate steps to ensure issues do not reoccur. • Communicates production problems to affected users if appropriate. • Datacenter Manager will maintain 7x24 on-call status to help resolve production problems. • Monitors performance and takes appropriate steps to coordinate, support or resolve • Abnormalities in; a) Web environments, Production, and LAN and WAN environments. b) Hardware and equipment operation c) Datacenter environment (physical space) of live and DR sites • Capacity planning to ensure efficient systems operation, service continuity, and minimize downtime of all systems and equipment • Maintain performance statistics for critical systems |
RequirementsRequirements• Experience in Operation and Supporting on various Applications • Experience in Vendor Coordination for third party coordination • Experience on overall on Operating environments. • Experience in team handling. • Experience decision making and escalation appropriately. • The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills 1. Management and supervisory skills 2. Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks 3. Team building skills 4. Analytical and problem solving skills 5. Decision making skills 6. Effective verbal, presentation and listening communications skills 7. Effective written communications skills • Should be degree in computer science or equivalent with minimum of 10 years experience in IT support, Administration and Operations. • Should be a MSCE/ MCP on Windows 2000/2003/2008. Experience on one of the Unix flavours would be must requirement. • Experience on Operation, Application, and Monitoring skills. • Experience on Staff Management and Team working. |
