Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Summary:
Surplus Manager (Inventory Management) plans, leads, organize and manage the sales/disposal of surplus and recycled materials for the company

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Promotes and encourages the disposition of surplus material through sales, recycling and reassigning the materials to different projects or other department that are in need of, such as Asset Management and Marketing. He sets up the Procurement Policy and Procedure for Surplus Materials and ensures compliance to such processes.
- Supervise, coordinates and plan the activities with User (s), PMC/Consultant working for the company.
- Acquire surplus materials from Projects, Asset Management etc and visit sites to facilitate the acquisition of Surplus.
- Monitors and administers the inventory system of Surplus material and keeps records of them.
- Develops, revise and advises on procurement policy and Procedure.
- Implement the sales of surplus/disposal as per the Procurement Policy and Procedure.
- Ensure book values of Asset/Surplus materials are maintained in coordination with Finance /Project Controls or any other relevant department.
- Assign valuation third party Company if necessary to assess the value of some assets.
- Directs reassignment of Surplus material to other departments as per their requirement.
- Obtain the best value for disposal /sale of surplus as per his experience in the market.
- Document the sale/disposal of surplus and ensure the relevant sale agreements are in place.
- Promotes the recycling program for some surplus materials.

Requirements

Business capabilities:
- Knowledge of the surplus materials and market with more than 15-20 years experience.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management and also Waste Management.
- Capable in the Preparation of inventory records.
Interpersonal skills:
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to delegate and coordinate responsibilities
- Strong conflict resolution/management skills
- Strong team player with ability to balance conflicting priorities and take timely decisions

Key Performance Indicators:
- Obtain prices for the surplus material within or above the NBV.
- Disposal of surplus material from site within a specified timelines
- Ensure maximum usage of surplus materials( internal utilization or disposal)

Qualifications:
- BA Degree in Business Administration or Engineering with 15-20 years' experience in the field of inventory management, sale of surplus and major Mechanical & Electrical Construction equipment/materials.
