The RoleThe RolePurpose: The Managed Services team in Qtel is the team responsible of defining, developing and implementing all Managed Services Portfolio. Context: He/She will supervise a team of Product Managers and specialists and have overall responsibility for leading and driving business managed services-related revenues and profits. Overview: Responsible for the following business lines: - Qtel Data Center - Cloud Services - SOHO/SME Bundles (OiaB) - IP Telephony / Unified Communications - Managed Security / Router / LAN - Public WiFi Services (Qtel HotSpot) - Etc. Responsible for identifying, evaluating and prioritising product development opportunities to deliver value to key customer segments (responsibility for defining product and content roadmaps). Responsible for ensuring that the businesses product deliverables are adequately resourced. Responsible for overseeing the technical and commercial launch of identified products and services within the allocated timeframe. |
RequirementsRequirements At least 8 years experience in a related industry Of which at least 3 years have been within the product management A strongcommercial and technical background A strong understanding of internet concepts, technologies and telecom industry trends Experience in managing cross-functional teams and suppliers and a track record in bringing products to market The role holder must possess a University Degree The role-holder needs to be perfect in English (spoken and written). An ability to speak & write in Arabic is preferable but not essential. |

Its principal activities include local and international fixed telephone, mobile, Internet, data and cable television services. Qtel is committed to growing its presence in the Middle East and internationally. In March 2007 Qtel had sealed what was rightly described as the 'biggest ever telecommunications deal in the Arab world' when it acquired 51% of the share capital of Kuwait based National Mobile Telecommunications Company KSC - (Wataniya) from Kuwait Projects Company for a total cash consideration of $3.8 billion, in a deal that is expected to give Qtel an increasingly important and prominent role in the MENA region. |
