The RoleThe RoleBased in Doha, Qatar, Sidra Medical and Research Center will be the Middle East's first academic medical center designed to the best international standards. Scheduled to open in early 2013, Sidra will provide world class, patient-focused, clinical services for women and children, medical education, and biomedical research in an ultra-modern, all-digital facility.Under the direction of the Senior Clinical Planning Consultant for Perioperative Services, the Manager for Materials Management has responsibility for the supply chain inventory planning and implementation processes for Perioperative Services materials and equipment utilization. This work includes providing consultation for detailed department planning, education programming and commissioning activities, as well as collaborating with other departments regarding the materials and supply chain process. The Materials Manager participates in recruiting, commissioning, on-boarding, orientation and service activation and ensures responsibilities are carried out in accordance with project plans and time lines, which may extend into hospital operations. |
RequirementsRequirements*Accountable & responsible for the detailed planning of management and flow of supplies, equipment, and services into and through Perioperative Services and related units of Interventional Services, i.e. Interventional Cath Labs. * Development, implementation & ongoing program coordination of implant, suture, specialty materials, custom procedure packs, procedure-based delivery, and clinical case cart systems. * Resource for consumable and general instrumentation development for procurement. * Resource for ERP integrated IT build for supporting resources, i.e. implants, specialty materials, preference cards, pick lists. * Development, planning & ongoing coordination of Integrated OR/Special Procedures solutions per project process. * Supply Auto Dispensing Unit development, implementation, and configuration for Perioperative Services. * Continued development, identification and ongoing coordination of specialty equipment and instrumentation. * Works with internal and external project teams to provide informed and comprehensive expertise regarding supply chain management. * Researches best practices for Perioperative supply chain management and presents information and recommendations to the Senior Clinical. Planning Consultant & appropriate planning departments. * Provides ongoing updates and recommendations to the Senior Clinical Planning Consultant on progress and high risk tasks associated with supply chain management and programs. * Supports Interventional Strategic Initiatives by ensuring the appropriate materials, equipment, and regulatory requirements are met for program activation, i.e. Pediatric Cardiac Hybrid Suite. * In view of the developing and changing needs and opportunities within Sidra during this start-up phase, this position may perform other duties as assigned. * As the project moves towards opening, the duties of the position will be revised. The post holder will be kept appraised regarding development of the operational role and will be consulted as necessary regarding the job transition. The current post holder may transition into the new role following an appropriate selection process. ESSENTIAL *Masters in Nursing or Healthcare related field and 3 years Management experience (with demonstrated Perioperative Materials Management experience), *OR Bachelors degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field and 5 years relevant Management experience may be considered(with  demonstrated Perioperative Materials Management experience). *Demonstrated expertise in supply chain management activities (sourcing, ordering, budgeting, contracting). *Demonstrated knowledge and use of Materials Management Information system. *Experience with Operating Room scheduling and Instrument management systems. *Experience with Clinical Information systems either as an end user, super user or build contributor.Demonstrates knowledge of best practices in Perioperative supply chain management. *Experience organizing data, generating accurate & timely reports Demonstrated proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office suite. *Demonstrated ability to facilitate successful discussions among supply chain stakeholders, internal & external, for successful specialty inventory management. *Fluency in written and spoken English. DESIRABLE *Familiarity with The Joint Commission International Standards. (JCI *Demonstrated ability to think strategically and implement leading-edge design of supply distribution systems in the Perioperative setting. |
