Manager – Medical Services

Job description / Role

The Manager of Medical Services is responsible for overseeing the operation of KAUST medical services to achieve excellent customer service, quality, cost, and delivery of services.

Major Responsibilities

• Work with Service Provider to ensure quality patient care and adequate range of services that support the health care needs of the KAUST community.

• Establishes strategic relationships with other medical service providers to ensure adequate coverage for medical situations outside of the capabilities of the primary Service Provider.

• Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, KPIs, for measuring

• Develops communications to inform faculty, students, staff and the community about the health care programs and services — medical, dental, mental health, disease and injury prevention education, outreach — available to them.

• Ensures that appropriate strategies are in place to handle medical emergencies.

• Investigates patient concerns and works with the Service Providers to implement appropriate courses of action.

• Serves as a highly visible campus resource and liaison on matters of personal and occupational health, preventive care and education.

• Conducts regular assessments of community health care needs and undertakes corrective and improvement measures.

• Ensure that confidentiality of medical record and practice across the medical services staff and Service Provider.

• Develop, maintain and ensure medical policy and process in place.

• To optimize medical cost and maintain it within budget allocated.

• Increase customer satisfaction.

• Provides guidance on medical issues related to hiring new employees and acceptance of new students.

• Ensures a high-quality, responsive and administratively efficient level of customer-oriented service delivery.

Required Education

• Master’s Degree in Hospital Management or equivalent.

Required Experience

• Least 10 years’ experience in managing a health care organization.
