Qtel's strategic priority is to create value in its superior customer service, new products and services demanded by the rapidly growing and modernizing Qatari economy.

Qtel provides range of telecommunications products including national, international, mobile GSM, Internet and Cable television services.

As the result of continuing organisational growth and extended service, we now seek a person for the role of Manager-Postpaid Services to hold this position in Consumer Business unit

Purpose:
The role holder will be responsible for proposing & developing the Wireless Postpaid & Business Segments and Propositions.

Context:
This position is in the Consumer Marketing function which is responsible for acquiring & retaining retail consumers.

Overview

The Postpaid Manager will be specifically required to:

To conceive & define the scope of postpaid / business market segment market research, to develop postpaid & corporate specific pricing, to conceive of new promotions and to launch new segment-specific postpaid & corporate offerings. In addition, to conceive and develop the marketing propositions surrounding the delivery and launch of new postpaid / corporate segment specific VAS products

The role calls for an individual with the ability to span strategic, technical and commercial areas. As well as being responsible for the delivery of promotions and marketing product specifications, the individual shall also be responsible for packaging products & promotions into marketable service propositions (i.e. defining the marketing creative - the service 'look and feel', the launch price and the overall marketing proposition) and for managing service training and service support activities.

The Postpaid / Business Market Specialist will be specifically required to:

• Review Qtel's existing postpaid customer base, price plans, usage and revenue.
• Commission relevant market research in order to develop further customer segment insights
• Develop and manage Qtel's customer segmentation and profiling based on internal and external quantitative and qualitative research
• Analyse all sources of data to identify customer needs, requirements and behaviour which can be translated into profitable business opportunities.
• Develop marketing strategies, objectives and action plans for all customer segments within the Postpaid and Business customer bases
• Prepare a comprehensive marketing plan for the postpaid and business segments (focusing on customer growth, revenue and ARPU stimulation)
• Actively capture & develop ideas for new propositions & / or products that satisfy customer needs
• Develop packages by bundling various combinations of services to target potential market segments
• Plan, produce, implement and sign-off on the marketing proposition surrounding all postpaid and business specific products and services.
• Work with Qtel's Product Management, Engineering, IT, Customer Care & Sales departments to identify prospective postpaid and business proposition / product demands on the business.
• Pull together the requirements identified during the requirements capture process and obtain stakeholder and management approval to the intended Service Proposal / Scope of Work.
• Work with Qtel's Product Management, Engineering, IT, Customer Care & Sales departments in the performance of a full feasibility study in order to define and communicate the methodology by which the agreed functional requirements shall be delivered.
• Develop pricing models based on price elasticity & profitability studies
• Work with Qtel's Communications and PR departments to define a promotion plan and communications strategy (product marketing budget, marketing creative, channel mix etc)
• Work with Qtel's Product Management & Engineering Departments (who are responsible for product design, the technical feasibility study, the publication of any RFQ's and vendor appraisal / selection) to facilitate progress through promotion / product design and implementation.
• Manage the production and distribution of training documentation / information packs to sales, retail and customer service channels and carry out training workshops to ensure that sales and support staff are adequately trained.

Costs & Profitability
The role-holder would have a very strong influence on Wireless Revenues in particular as the majority of Wireless revenues come from Postpaid and Business Customers.

The role-holder is strategically as well as operationally responsible for developing a best in class Proposition capability for the Postpaid & Business Segments & Customers.

Customers
The position requires significant interfacing with key people across Qtel, namely Marketing Managers, Product Managers and senior Management. This role holder will shape these proposals and get buy in from Senior Management to submit for Board acceptance.

Business Orientation
The position requires that the role holder stay in touch with Qtel's broader development objectives (marketing efforts, products and services roadmap) and react to these in the best interest of Qtel.

Planning & Organising
The role holder is responsible for preparing a Postpaid / Business Segment, Customer Strategy is right for Qtel now and in the future.

So ability to plan and deliver technically and commercial complex Project Plans is essential.

The role-holder's ability to plan and to organise other departments (which involve significant re-deployment of resources)/ people is an absolutely crucial component of their role. The role-holder is responsible for developing complete project plans, forecasting and requesting resource needs and support, for marshalling those resources into delivering a common strategic deliverable and for setting performance and delivery timelines.

The role holder shall make sure that all involved parties - those within his own team as well as those in other support departments (e.g. Marketing, IT, Network Engineering etc) are informed of any deadlines they are responsible for and follow up on a regular basis to ensure that all milestones are met on time.

Ability to solve the highest level of complex problem solving.Ability to identify commercial weaknesses / revenue gaps and sell best practices into the business is essential proactively.

Communicating, negotiating & influencing
The role-holder is responsible for the following types of communication:
• Developing proposals and getting seniour Wireless buy-in
• Communication skills at consultant level expect

Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge
• The role-holder needs to have a strong understanding of wireless technologies and mobile industry trends.
• Expert knowledge of Marketing Management and concept development
• Significant Marketing and/ or field experience

Minimum Entry Qualifications
• At least 8 years marketing experience of which 5 years experience in a very relevant marketing role (i.e. must already have excellent understanding of the specific propositions) ideally in telecoms.
• Self starter with confidence and ability to take the initiative
• Strong team player with a positive proactive approach having a sense of urgency and commitment, able to communicate, influence and persuade at all organizational levels.
• Ability to articulate requirements very clearly with other Marketing & Product Managers.
• Commercial awareness at an expert level.Ability to manage & motivate cross functional teams to deliver projects against changing objectives within defined timeframes.
• Bachelor's degree from a reputed university
• Preference will be given to candidates who have a MBA.
• Total Experience of 10 years

SKILLS

Technical & Non Technical

Expert knowledge of Marketing and Proposition/ Brand development deployed regionally/ globally.

Need to have excellent knowledge of mobile networks and products and services and specific knowledge of key market trends as well as new Wireless products and services.

In addition they need to have:
• Extremely strong analytical skills
• Expert Project Planning and Implementation (Project Mgmt)
• Strong team leadership and management skills
• Numerate and analytical, able to tackle complex issues quickly and accurately.
• Excellent communications skills, written and verbal with experience at presenting at all levels
• Proven experience in owning and delivering complex projects to meet deadlines
