Manager Public Relations

Job description / Role

This role will work closely with the Corporate Communications Manager in implementing Etisalat's annual PR and communications plan.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain a deep understanding of the corporations ambition and model, its corporate and market position, personality and brand, its competitive point(s) of difference, the telecoms market (local and regional) trends and dynamics, and the institutions corporate strategies and programmes to form and/or update:
- The corporate narrative, message house and proof point
- Creative PR campaigns and supporting media and non-media material including fact sheets, response statements, news releases, event outline, and providing effective and innovative support for product launches and events

Write effectively for a variety of platforms including speeches, senior leadership messages, press releases, byline articles, Opinion Editorials, Q&As, key messages and other strategic messaging opportunities.

Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis

Contribute to strategic communications plans around major initiatives that impact the company's business objectives.

Requirements

- 5+ years of communication/PR experience, preferably in telecoms and technology sector
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, PR, Business or Marketing and relevant work experience at a PR agency or corporate setting
- Effective and creative writing skills in English
- Experience in inventing creative communications and campaigns ground up, and a desire and ability to be create, take ownership in creating new programs
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and within a small dynamic team
- Strong project management and multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes
- An effective communicator, able to formulate clear points of view on complicated issues and create concise and well-written narratives to express them
- Ability to follow through on assigned tasks with limited supervision; high degree of autonomy and initiative
- Willing to roll up sleeves and get work done, even when at times it's outside the scope of the job
