Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Develop and maintain best safety practices and lead continuous improvement to a progressive Safety culture in all Drydocks World Dubai activities.
- Provide a proactive advisory service to DWD Directors and Managers to enable them to address Safety related issues.
- Lead safety audits, risk assessments and inspect on facilities, machinery, equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Propose, develop and implement injury and hazards incident prevention and control strategies and monitor the compliance with the companys policy and procedures.
- Coordinate with Fire, Medical, Security and other departments and lead the emergency response team.
- Prepare regular safety reports and presentations to the management and represents the management and business partners meetings.
- Review and update DWDs policies and procedures in line with the national and international standards for continual improvement.
- Control of consumable budget and Capex requirements.
- Ensuring optimum use of resources, equipment and manpower.
- Provide on the job training to the subordinates and succession plan within the department.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head.

Requirements

- Degree / Diploma in Health and safety, with Minimum 10 years experience as Safety Manager in a large ship-repair / ship building yard.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Fire legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in conducting accident and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication skill and good interpersonal skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with business objectives.
