Job description / Role
Strategic Programme Delivery and Performance Measurement:
- Oversees the performance management system at the BU/FU under his responsibility, cascade the corporate objectives in to the business unit's performance targets and scorecards. Responsible for the key projects, operational plan and Sccorecards of the BU/FU to ensure consistency in the KPIs, milestones, dependencies and resource requirements. Ensure strategic alignment of the BU/FU with the Strategy.
Reviewing with BU, track and report on the strategic initiatives implementation progress (Strategic KPIs, financial impact, milestones). Overseeing the key projects execution in the BU/FU unit including:
- IT/Network Development projects for the BU/FU
- Undertake the consolidation of project management reporting across the key projects
- Ensure that project governance is defined, initiative team and sponsors are allocated. Set-up PM templates and methodology (Detail plan, Steercos, MoM)
- Identify bottle necks, escalate issues, propose preventive/corrective measures to ensure projects timeline deadlines/budgets, manage ongoing communication, on project status.
- Facilitate project implementation, cross-functional requirements and support BU/FU teams in alignment and coordination meetings
- Participate in risk assessment and provide feedback and advice, assess interdependencies across and within projects.
- Attendance to and reporting to Steercos and Theme Sponsor meetings
- Support and mentor Programme and Project managers in the BU/FU under his responsibility.
Corporate Performance Monitoring
- Analyze BU/FU reporting ensuring data quality and consistency, review performance and identify any major issues and gaps.
- Monitor balanced scorecard and KPIs, and recommend corrective action and ensure follow up of senior management actions (Exco, Oprev, ad-hoc)
- Review of BU/FU reports for Monthly Management Meeting, OG Monthly and Quarterly reports and other ad-hoc reports/presentations as required to ensure data quality and consistency across the reports.
Other activities as required:
- Carry out other related ad-hoc duties and analyses as required including project/program management activities on selected projects/programmes.
Requirements
- You have a bachelors Degree, preferably in telecom engineering, business administration or a related discipline. A post-graduate Project Management qualification (MPMI/Prince 2) is a definite advantage.
- 6 years commercial experience is required, with significant telecom exposure.
- A strong grasp of the technical aspects of the telecom industry is required.
- Previous roles with strategy, execution & transformation is desirable
- Excellent program management and project management skills is a must
- Sound knowledge of financial indicators, risk analysis.
- Performance management implementation and monitoring experience including identification and follow-up of issues.
- Significant knowledge of performance measures (KPIs) and their development and monitoring
- Hands-on technical project background in different work environments
