Employment: Full Time

Information Technology Services (ITS) at Qatar University is accepting applications for the position of Manager of Infrastructure and Operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Director will provide direct management, planning, and oversight for university networks, telecommunications, systems administration, data center, and DBA functions.
Responsibilities include Data Network, Voice telecommunications, and the design, installation and maintenance of the computer servers that provide all centrally managed information technology resources for the campus. This position also provides high-end technical support to academic departments and functions as second level support for user support requests received by User Services, and is responsible for the installation and maintenance of systems within the responsibility of the department. The Director will also collaborate with the CIO and other ITS managers on strategic planning for technology services, and represent ITS to other organizations, both internal and external, both alone and in partnership with the CIO. The Manager will work in cooperation with the Procurement Office and vendors to negotiate the best prices and contractual agreements for products and services within the purview of Networks & Systems.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree is required, masters preferred, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in complex technology management. This position requires excellent communications skills, with the ability to communicate with all members of the Qatar community; management experience; familiarity with Data Center design and management; broad understanding of computer server and networking technology; knowledge of user support for technology; knowledge of configuration and support of ERP Systems; familiarity with Learning Management systems.
