Our client is a global network of sports channels with headquarters across the Middle East, France, Indonesia and the US is currently undergoing significant executive talent growth given its formation in 2012. The firm currently operates and provides services across the Middle East, North Africa, France, USA, Indonesia, Canada, Hong Kong and Thailand. The Executive Team are now looking to recruit a Manager of Quality Control to their MENA team who will be responsible for developing and implementing guidelines and standards for the various Editorial & Technical aspects (Operations, Engineering, and Creative) for the firm.

This role is responsible to:

• Review, compile and edit the Technical & Editorial Monitoring standards in the firm’s Sports channels.
• Conduct interviews with Managers and Directors to discuss Technical & Editorial Monitoring standards and proposed updates when needed.
• Develop the quality documents from both internal and external sources, and thus evolve the firm’s own new quality documents, in collaboration with the leaders of the channels, and with direct input from them including all Technical & Editorial aspects.
• Review and approve changes and updates on technical standards based on channel reviews and comparisons, as well as the concerned management approvals.
• Determine the outlets to partner with and build relationships with leading media networks.
• Interview engineers, directors, video editors, cameramen, broadcast operators, and creative designers, and producers with expertise in, or exposure to, the various aspects of quality assurance to discuss international Technical & Editorial standards and best practices.
• Design assessment criteria for the various dimensions of a channel's coverage (topical, chronological, etc.) and establish, along with the Technical & Editorial Monitoring Section Heads how to implement them.
• Design and lead training workshops on technical standards for the channel's technical staff (engineers, directors, video editors, cameramen, broadcast operators, creative designers and producers).
• Review reports from the channel's controllers, and supervise and guide the consultants in deciding the quality assessment criteria.
• Present on a regular basis the recommendations and reports of the Quality Assurance Technical & Editorial Monitoring Standards.
• Follow up and provide guidance and support the department.
• Provide periodical reports on competitors' performance compared with the firm, especially with regards to adherence to high quality standards.

Requirements

The attributes we seek for suitably qualified candidates comprise:

• Minimum Bachelor degree in Engineering, Media Production or related fields with a minimum of 9 years of professional experience in TV news or related fields in the field quality control.
• Experience in the MENA media sector would be highly regarded.
• Exceptional communication skills and a stable work history is essential.
