Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Boeing is seeking a Managing Director for the Saudi Aviation Maintenance Institute (SAMI). SAMI is a new Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) Institute developed to provide young Saudis with Aviation English Language and General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) certified Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician training.

Reporting to the SAMI Board of Directors, you will define and drive the overall goals, activities and metrics of the Institute, and manage its day-to-day operation. As well as overseeing the effective delivery of the AEL and AMT Training Program by the Training Operator, you will manage all the administrative and supervisory functions of the SAMI Staff. This includes human resources, finance, student affairs, training and marketing.

With a full understanding of the scope of the institute activities and strategic plans, you will be the point of contact for industry, government, other institutions and media, keeping institute stakeholders informed of inquiries and potential research opportunities, as well as assessing their viability. Building and maintaining external relationships, including developing and servicing client relationships and tracking outcomes, the quality of the academic service provided to the students will be down to you. So ensuring that all applicable internal and external quality standards are met and external certifications are maintained without deficiency or disruption is of the utmost importance.

Promoting and improving the institute’s working culture and environment, you will also be the representative of its ideologies and mission statement – regulating, modifying and implementing changes that will boost employee efficiency and garner success for the institute.

This job may be level D2 or D3 and will determined by the level of experience and qualifications of the selected candidate, in relation to the scope and responsibility of the position.

Requirements

A Saudi national, you will need a degree or a Masters in Business or Management and at least 15 years commercial aviation industry experience. This will have given you the proven track record in management and leadership, and the solid in-Kingdom aviation community network you will need. A GACA Part 147 AMT certificate and AMT instructor background is highly desirable, as is experience of managing within an academic environment.

An excellent communicator, fluent in Arabic and English, you will need to embody the Boeing leadership values – proving you can:

Chart the Course – Translate strategy into actionable objectives and plans, motivating others and balancing big-picture concern with day-to-day issues.

Deliver Results – Keep your promises, be accountable and meet commitments.

Find a Way – Continuously monitor customers and operations to spot issues and adjust to keep commitments. Seeing change as an opportunity, you will use Boeing’s complexity as leverage, not an excuse.

Energize, excite and motivates others – Creating and modelling a confident and winning atmosphere, you will build teams whose impact is far greater than the sum of their parts.

Live the Boeing Values – Committed to the Boeing values, principles and business-conduct policies, you will earn the trust and respect of all Boeing stakeholders by vigorously pursuing individual and business objectives.
Set high expectations – With the courage to raise the bar continuously and routinely, you will hold yourself and others accountable for improvement – showing people and teams how to reach goals.

Please note, this requisition is for an international, locally hired position. CANDIDATES MUST HAVE CURRENT LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK IN SAUDI ARABIA. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll. Relocation benefits may be limited to in-country or in-continent moves and may not be available for overseas relocation.
