Managing Quantity Surveyor

Job description / Role

A Managing Quantity Surveyor id required to work for a division of one of the UAE's largest and most reputable main contractors. The successful candidate will manage a division of the business that carries out small and medium sized construction work in and around Abu Dhabi oil fields. This position is office based in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi and some travel to sites in remote locations will be required.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will manage a team of circa 5 Quantity Surveyors on a range of small to medium sized projects. You will report into the Divisional Commercial Manager and Group Commercial Manager and typical day to day duties will include:

- Working alongside the Divisional Manager to develop and manage the business (includes business development but also gaining future work through project delivery)
- Manage a team of Quantity Surveyors working on multiple projects at one time
- Cost Control, Reporting and Forecasting
- Contract Administration
- Procurement of sub-contractors and major materials

Requirements

- Candidates must have previous overseas experience. Preference would be for candidates with experience in the Middle East and Abu Dhabi specifically
- Clear demonstrable experience of managing a team of commercial staff is required
- Experience of working on building projects with some minor civils work is desired
- Excellent written and verbal English is essential
- A degree or similar equivalent qualification related to Quantity Surveying is desired
- Candidates will need to have worked in a senior project delivery role as a Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager for a reputable main contractor

Basic Salary: 25k - 32k AED p/m
