Mandarin Communications Executive

Job description / Role

My client is a Global Agency seeking a Communications Executive who is Mandarin speaking to support the communications strategy in China.

The purpose of this role will be to Support communications strategy in China and contribute to the development and creation of Dubai messaging and help to position as appropriate for both local, Chinese and other international audiences. You will be involved in conceptualizing, writing and preparing press releases.

The Role
- To Support communications strategy in China
- Contribute to the development and creation of Dubai messaging and help to position as appropriate for both local, Chinese and other international audiences
- Conceptualize, write and prepare press releases
- Identify appropriate audiences for media activity
- Build relationships with local and international media contacts
- Identify, track and report on media coverage of specific issues
- Prepare briefing documents for interviewees

Communications Team Support
- Liaise with third parties (e.g. agencies as relevant) to ensure projects remain on-message
- Support media monitoring and reporting on specific issues/events/projects
- Prepare social media content and work with the Digital and Marketing team to ensure appropriate placement
- Contribute to the writing and editing of content for the website
- Contribute to communications with network members/stakeholders, both local and international
- Drafting letters, emails, invitations etc as required
- Additional responsibilities to be advised as the organizational needs develop

Requirements

- Ability to communicate in Mandarin would be an advantage
- Experience of working in/with China would be an advantage

Competencies:
- Fluency in English and ability to develop written material that is accurate and communicates the key messages as appropriate to the audience
- Ability to review and proof written material and projects in order to provide recommendations for next steps
- A sense of tone and positioning for Dubai and the UAE within a local and international context
- Ability to work with third parties and develop good relationships
- Understanding of the local, regional and international media landscape, including social media channels
- Ability to work under pressure, to short deadlines and extra hours if needed on assignments
- Ability to use own initiative, manage time and priorities
- Ability to tactfully interact with a diverse group of individuals at all levels
