The Role


The Role


Parsons International is on the lookout for a Marine / Coastal Engineer to join our team of Marine / Coastal Engineers for a prestigious mega scale development project in Abu Dhabi. The team undertakes detailed design for various coastal engineering design components of a project varying from breakwaters, revetments, quay walls, marinas, canals. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver world class marine and coastal engineering solutions in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Identifies the conditions and constraints in coastal engineering environment and performs detailed design for various coastal structures.

Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.

Prepares design reports and specifications, engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, data sheets and other construction documents.

Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.

Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.

Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.

May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.

Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements


Requirements


• Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Minimum 5 years of Marine / Coastal Engineering related work experience, with potential to perform in a lead capacity.
• Good understanding of coastal hydrodynamics and morphology, be able to specify and analyze modeling requirements and results, and be able to apply various codes and standards within the coastal engineering discipline.
• Active involvement in the design of large scale coastal projects.
• Professional Engineer registration is desired.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity of industry practices and regulations.
• Thorough knowledge of current technology to be able to apply appropriate engineering software.
