Marine Credit Controller

Job description / Role

A large global oil and gas company is seeking a Marine Credit Controller for their regional offices in Abu Dhabi.

Supporting the Finance Director, primary responsibilities include: assisting with collection efforts of outstanding receivables on a daily basis, reviewing and approving all processed invoices and credit memos, and establishing work standards whilst designing and maintaining effective operating procedures.

The role will be dealing with clients across the MENA region and actively monitor assigned accounts in order to maximise cash flow and avoid doubtful debt provisions. Outstanding invoices need to be diligently researched, information collated and client contacted on a daily basis together with maintaining and generating reports for analysis and progress checks. In addition, you will be responsible for the analysis of internal and external sources of credit data, including financial statements where appropriate to determine the likelihood of recovery. There will also be other related duties as required such as adhoc reports, research and special projects.

Requirements

The Credit Controller is a central point of contact and therefore, the successful candidate must have excellent communication skills to be able to work fluidly with high level management as well as the Accounts Receivable Manager and Financial Controller.

An outgoing, determined, friendly and polite nature will be needed as cold calling finance teams to investigate old debts will be a key part of the role and certain debts will need the perseverance to collect.
