The Role


The Role


Working in a team of Civil Engineers and inspectors providing a comprehensive construction supervision service to our clients, this is a great opportunity for an engineer to gain additional experience within an internationally renowned consultant, affording the opportunity to work on a large scale marine projects.

Responsibilities:

• Act as focal point for matters relating to marine engineering.
• Coordinate with Atkins’ Engineers and Architects.
• Coordinate with, instruct and supervise inspectors.
• Carry out checks of contractors work
• Be responsible for the correctness and accuracy of their own work.
• Complete supervision work within the agreed times.
• To coordinate with other design disciplines as required on a day-to-day basis or as set out by the project requirements

Technical Competencies:

Essential

• Degree qualified – minimum requirement of BEng
• Between 5 to 10 years experience working in the supervision of marine construction projects.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Middle East
• Contract administration experience including writing contractual correspondence
• Understanding of British, American and International design standards
• Understanding of civil engineering principles
• Good level of computer literacy in Windows and other Microsoft products – an understanding of AutoCAD software is beneficial
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English

Essential

• Able to act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way
• Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential
• Ability when required to manage the workload of a team of more Junior Engineers/Inspectors
