Marine Works Site Surveyor - Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
- Detailed supervision and check of the Contractors survey work as directed by the Resident Engineer.
- Establishes an appropriate working relationship with the contractors.
- Places an emphasis on safe construction practices (Target Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction. Leads by example in driving safe practices on site.
- Intimate knowledge of the relevant drawings and specifications.
- Keeping a detailed and neat daily diary of survey works and all important observations on site.
- Ensuring all information required for checking the works is correctly extracted from the drawings and contract documents.
- Review and approval of the contractors proposed setting out calculations, equipment checks, and other quality checks.
- Responding to all RFIs issued by the contractor within the time limits established by the Resident Engineer.
- Periodic checking of the survey control and line and level of works to ensure work is carried out according to the drawings and provisions of the contract documents.
- Checking of contractors surveys and reports for conformance with the specification and ensure as built survey of the completed works is recorded for project hand-over.
- Assisting the Resident Engineer with quantity checks for interim and final valuations for payment
- Reporting of all problems in connection with the civil works to the Resident Engineer.
- Deal with any other duties as may be assigned from time to time from the Resident Engineer & ensure that the company meets HSE standards as set in accordance to companys policy.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree
- Recent previous experience (within last 5 years) as a Surveyor for marine engineering construction projects including rock works and piling, and are ideally located in the Middle East region.
- Minimum 5 years experience in the bathymetric and topographic surveying
- Working knowledge of CAD and MX or similar.
- Fully understand the aspects of site supervision and construction management of marine engineering projects.
- Be enthusiastic about improving the safety performance of site operations in UAE.
- Good team-working skills and be able to work in a multi-cultural and multi-discipline team.
- Good communication and writing skills in English.
- Written and spoken Arabic skills are beneficial but not essential
