Market Adviser

KCM Recruitment Ltd is assisting Enterprise Ireland in the search and selection of a market adviser for its office in Dubai. Enterprise Ireland is an Irish Government institution involved in assisting Irish Companies export their goods and services internationally.

Reporting to: Manager, Dubai
Salary: AED284,050
Location: Dubai
Contract Duration: 3 year local assignment.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to work with Irish client companies to support them to achieve significant growth in their exports into the GCC region, with the primary market focus being on the GCC. The successful candidate will be required to initiate and implement a range of sales and marketing led activities, utilising their consultancy skills and contact base, to identify opportunities for Irish client companies to achieve sales and exports in the MENA region.

Key Deliverables:
• Deliver on a number of predetermined targets in relation to activities on behalf of client companies as agreed with the Manager Gulf states.
• Build relationships with key Enterprise Ireland clients who are seeking to develop sales in the Gulf and agree key deliverables by EI in accelerating their sales plans.
• Promote the Gulf markets to our key client companies and to ensure that our client base is educated about the ways and means of succeeding in the region.
• Establish an extensive network of contacts at senior level in GCC buying organisations that will lead to increasing awareness of Ireland as a supply source.
• Identify new business development opportunities for priority clients, and advise clients on how they can best position themselves to win these sales and contracts in the region.
• Develop expertise in key sectors of the market where EI clients have substantial capability and proactively share this information with priority clients in key sectors. These sectors are;

- Enterprise Software
- Travel technology
- Digital content

• Develop and implement a range of services and programmes to support Irish company sales activities, ensuring that activity is aligned with achieving agreed targets
• Take a lead and active role in the development of a clear message and value proposition for Irish client companies, in support of their sales activities in the region. Support the exploitation of identified opportunities through provision of in-market support and the identification of strategic in-market partners. Assist and support clients to turn opportunities into real sales.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the SEMEA team, EI’s global overseas network and those working for EI in Ireland, in addition to colleagues from other Government agencies and departments (Industrial Development Authority, Bord Bia (Irish Food Board), Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
• Work with Irish based colleagues to engage with clients in collaborative diagnosis of capability across a range of business areas in order to assist companies build robust scalable business plans suitable for market conditions in the region.

Requirements

Functional Competencies

• Recent commercial experience in the UAE, in a sector relevant to Enterprise Ireland clients.
• Sales and marketing experience in the GCC and particularly in the UAE.
• Existing contact network that could be leveraged by Enterprise Ireland clients seeking to export to this market.
• Experience and knowledge of business development with strong consulting skills and a demonstrated ability to assess and challenge business plans for SMEs to help them grow their business.
• Ability to work on own initiative and also to manage projects.
• Degree qualified with 3-5 years relevant working experience.
• Demonstrated capacity to rapidly assimilate the key drivers in business sub-sectors and niches.
• Results orientation and “can-do” attitude; good organisational skills.
• Ability to influence and rapidly build credibility with clients and buyers.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good presentation skills.
