The Role


Our Client is an agency responsible for the development and promotion of the indigenous business sector. Their mission is to accelerate the development of world-class companies to achieve strong positions in global markets resulting in increased national and regional prosperity.

THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will work as a part of the SEMAE market development team. Responsible for managing a client work with international service companies (with special focus on opportunities in the financial services sector) clients targeting the Gulf markets.The position will involve representing our Client in the business community and increasing the awareness of Ireland as a supply source. The successful candidate will have knowledge of the Gulf market and the ability to develop a strategy for increasing the level of the business by Irish companies in the aforementioned product areas.
The successful candidate will be results focused and highly motivated to achieve the ambitious targets for the portfolio. Candidates should have a strong understanding of sales and marketing practices that will benefit Irish companies exporting to international markets and an understanding of the Gulf market and operating environment.

KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Proactively increase Irish exports to the high growth Gulf Markets in the line with the targets agreed with the Manager Dubai and implement a range of services and programmes to support Irish company sales activities.
- Work in a coordinated and integrated manner with Ireland based teams to achieve shared corporate targets in the sectors.
- Proactively seek out potential market opportunities for individual Irish companies and help clients to turn to these opportunities into real sales.
- Draw up and implement programmes to enable companies to profitably follow-up on opportunities.
- Work as part of the Gulf team focusing on the development of the U.A.E. and Gulf markets for Irish client companies.
- Increase awareness in the market of Ireland as a supply source by forming high quality contacts with key buyers and ensuring the deliver of a professional product sourcing service.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of the structure and dynamics of the Gulf markets relevant to existing or potential international service offerings from Ireland.
- Contribute to strategy development for the region.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date information sources on the industry sectors.
- Undertake / manage agreed projects for individual Irish clients. Persuade Irish client at senior level to act on recommendations arising from such projects.
- Contribute to the SEMEA team by proposing & implementing new initiatives / project ideas / market opportunities to increase export growth of our industrial clients to the region.
- Support SEMEA team in representing our client in the broader media, business and commercial environment and with the other Irish government agencies in the region, project a positive image of Ireland as an international supply source.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge and understanding of the U.A.E and wider Gulf markets, with ability to generate good contacts in the relevant sectors, most notably financial services.
- Appreciation of the dynamics of Irish Industry preferably with knowledge of Irish supply base in international services.
- Strong marketing ability with a good knowledge of the business methods and sales process in the Arab markets.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to network effectively and to build and maintain effective business relationships with colleagues and clients.
- A creative self starter with the ability to innovate and develop a strategic approach.
- Highly developed influencing skills coupled with the ability to maintain credibility with clients and to interact effectively in the market.
- A relevant third level qualification is an advantage. Competency in Arabic would be an advantage.
- Work experience in financial services sector in the Gulf be highly desirable.
