The Role

One of my clients, a leading telecom Operator in Afghanistan, is looking for a Market Research Specialist to work in Kabul.

This position will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Analytics.

SUMMARY OF JOB

The Market Analytics team is responsible for executing pricing, market intelligence and research exercises to improve the company’s competitive position in the marketplace. The team is looking for a motivated self-starter who can effectively coordinate all Market Research activities.

As the Market Research Specialist this position will have the following responsibilities and objectives:

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinate delivery of internal Market Research activities, including:
a. Liaison with out bound call center to plan necessary resources and time plans.
b. Work with research stakeholders on preparation of questionnaires.
c. Consolidate and compile responses.
d. Work with market analytics and strategy office in analysis of responses.

2. Administration of third party market research providers, including:
a. Develop strong working relationship with primary contacts from service agencies.
b. Consolidate feedback on research requirements and brief external agency.
c. Consolidate feedback on research questions provided by agency from relevant research stakeholders.
d. Schedule timelines for research delivery.
e. Arrange times for presentation of findings to stakeholders.
f. Ensure timely payment and contract addendums managed effectively between finance and agency.

3. Maintain library of all research conducted and distribute when required by those entitled to access.
4. Work with Product, Marketing, Marcomms and Sales on development of plans to address deficiencies highlighted by research.
5. Present all finding from both internal and agency research to relevant stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

• University Degree
• Quantitative aptitude
• Interest in analysis and research
• Telecom experience preferred

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to work with little explicit direction
• Self starter
• Excellent written and spoken English and Dari
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Excellent communication, administration and organizational skills

Basic Salary: $42000 / Year ($3500/Month Tax-Free)

Accommodation: Company Provided (in a safe and secure compound with all modern amenities managed and run by Roshan Telecom)

Flights: 4 Round-Trip flights per year
