Shopex is an exciting and unique product that will change the landscape of how brick and mortar retailers do business and how consumers go about their local shopping. Shopex is the consumers local shopping companion across the entire buying journey - from discovering products around them, to knowing where these products are available in stock now, and where are the best deals they can get for these products. With Shopex, consumers will have all their favorite local stores at their fingertips.

The Shopex Marketing Director will be responsible for all marketing for this exciting growth company. They will be responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of the organizations marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities. The Marketing Director will be required to build an extensive user base for the Shopex app. In addition to that, they will be responsible for building the Shopex image, presence, and raise awareness across all retail sectors.

Primary Relationships
The Marketing Director will report to the Co-Founders and serve as a member of the senior management team. He/She will participate with the Board of Directors and senior management staff in charting the direction of the Organization, and ensuring its effective operation.

Within the Organization, the position has primary working relationships with the Executive Director, senior management team, staff of the Marketing/Communications/P.R.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a fully formed marketing strategy, positioning and key messages current and future and manage the implementation and execution of those plans according to a schedule and budget to meet specified goals and objectives
- Create compelling and differentiating product positioning and messaging for marketing programs to drive downloads and raise product awareness
- Manage and aide digital marketing team in executing Shopexs social media marketing including regular blog posts, social media platforms, newsletters, etc.
- Work closely with product development, sales, and senior management to drive and influence strategic and tactical business growth opportunities
- Develop company and product messaging, naming, and positioning with senior management team.
- Develop plans and drive the execution of all marketing programs, sales tools, marketing collateral, and website to communicate the value of Shopex to the target audiences.
- Align with Business Development team to create and manage retailer marketing strategy and execution.
- Manage external agencies as required
- Manage all marketing operations to be executed through various internal and external resources.
- Regularly review marketing plans, KPIs, demographics, and industry best practices to ensure marketing efforts are effective, and successful, making recommendations and adjustments as appropriate.
- Manage PR strategy. Additionally, work to create/manage press lists, invite press and consistently grow and develop media relations across all channels.
- Adept at using all available marketing tools, traditional and emerging: Advertising (online, print, etc), Social Media, PR, Direct Marketing, SEM/SEO, etc.
- Effective management of the marketing budget
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in strategic marketing communications, including developments and best practices in social media, online and other channels
- Strategic planning including: corporate positioning, market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning.
- Oversee marketing communications including branding, public relations, advertising, white papers, trade shows, seminars and events collateral materials, analyst and market research management, and website design and content either directly or on an outsourced basis.
- Define and direct marketing programs for demand creation, lead generation and interface with Director of Sales for lead tracking and management.

Requirements

- Exceptional track record of developing and implementing marketing strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives, providing personal leadership through example
- Proven leadership with a can-do attitude
- Demonstrated success in devising marketing strategies and executing end-to-end of marketing plans
- Strong interpersonal and team skills and the ability to foster cross-functional teamwork among sales, marketing, and R&D
- Proven ability to drive social media marketing strategy
- Strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail with exceptional written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated strategic thinking ability
- Ability to plan and supervise market research projects
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial
- Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a result driven, team oriented environment
- Experience working with business and industry press
- Strong public speaking skills and presence.
- Experience in the enterprise software industry and in consumer app marketing is preferred
- BA/BS degree required. MBA preferred
