The RoleThe RoleOur client is a recognized leader in confectionary with a wide range of product offerings including mints, candies, lollipops, chewing gum and chocolate. They have operations in more than 40 countries and distribute their world-famous brands in more than 180 countries. Currently, they are looking to recruit a Marketing Director MEA to develop and manage the implementation of medium and long term marketing strategies to deliver agreed levels of sales, profit, and market share for assigned brands for Middle East & Africa; Build the capabilities of the Marketing function to meet the present and future challenges of the marketplace; and behave and contribute to the high performance team culture of the MEA Leadership Team. Reporting to the Regional Managing Director and with 3 Direct Reports, the successful applicant is responsible for: Plan and direct the development and implementation of medium and long-term marketing and advertising plans, strategies, goals and objectives for assigned brands that are aligned to overall business objectives. Share and customize globally available initiatives (new products, communication initiatives), best practice and experiences from other markets. Drive the harmonization and simplification of the portfolio in the region. Create visibility for regional needs at global functions to share success and activities. Work with the Companys advertising agencies to develop creative and compelling advertising executions to deliver desired consumer response. Ensure all Marketing activities comply with global marketing strategy and preserve/ strengthen established brands equity. Work with CMI and research agencies to identify & conduct different types of market researches to measure brands performance and identify new opportunities Evaluate new product marketing positions and benefits, and manage high potential new product introductions with Innovation and Supply Chain. Identify, grow and develop marketing talent to build bench strength and organizational capability. Guide, train and coach the functional teams across MEA to realize their full potential. Contribute to establishing a high performing MEA Leadership team through interdependency behaviours. Represent the Marketing function for the MEA region within global Marketing Community; participate and provide support for regional projects and activities. |
RequirementsRequirements A seasoned business professional with minimum 6-10 years of progressive marketing experience within a Blue chip FMCG environment. A strategic thinker with the broad-based business awareness to effectively align functional strategies with wider business objectives. Proven specialist in consumer advertising and product promotion. Strong project management skills and the ability to effectively co-ordinate multiple activities. Creative and convincing presentation style. Exhibits a high level of competency in Leadership Competencies, and has the personal leadership and inspirational qualities to direct, coach and encourage the highest levels of performance from the team. Holds a university degree in Marketing |
