Marketing Manager – Beverages
Our client are a beverage retailer, distributor, wholesale supply group based in Bahrain. A vacancy has arisen for a Marketing Manager.
To manage and oversee the product range & marketing function within Beverages. This will be achieved through developing and agreeing brand plans with Principals and to formulate and oversee effective marketing activity strategies & manage implementation of international best practice. To manage the product range, through reviewing the current portfolio and identifying new product development opportunities. To investigate the market for new business opportunities and new Principals.
Management of the Annual A&P Budget.
Works with the Principals in conjunction with the marketing teams, to create marketing plans for each brand, stating the agreed sales and marketing promotional activities for the coming year.
Management of all stream communications and liaison with Principals so as to achieve a consistent set of standards, which are benchmarked against international best practice.
Manages the product portfolio through identifying products that may no longer be commercially viable and also identifies & recommends new products.
Manages system and commercial process for DPP through reviewing, introducing & managing the product range in all Divisions
To manage and implement a full category management approach in retail outlets
Manages the effectiveness of the implementation of overall marketing activity through initiation & management of the MAP system (Marketing Activity Proposal & Review). In addition, regular market visits, to check that activities are in accordance with the agreed MAP
Investigates the market to identify potential new Principal and product opportunities, look into current fads and trends, and to increase general market knowledge throughout the Stream
Management of divisional teams when implementing major events
Undertakes market analysis of product and category performance by Divisional and trade channels.
Creates the Annual Marketing Plans for each coming year, taking into consideration information regarding brand strengths and weaknesses, successful past promotions, competitor activities, market status and Principal requirements etc.
Researches marketing Best Practice by gathering information through networking, searching the Internet and trade magazines etc, and to develop new ideas for marketing strategies.
Works with the Divisional Manager to oversee the A&P budgets through closely monitoring all expenditure via authorisation of related Local Purchase Orders (LPO’s) and the monitoring of expenditure information on the system.
Provides Monthly Report of Spend v. Budget.
Manages staff in accordance with the agreed policies and budgets of the company
Identifies staff development needs to meet business requirements and arranges appropriate training through HR. Acts as a role model and coaches staff in the company values and behaviour expected.
Reviews team performance on a daily basis and closely monitors to ensure they meet their targets. Provides guidance and takes corrective action when required to do so.
Works on the review of the organisational structure and deals with any recruitment, development or termination issues in co-ordination with Human Resources.
Graduate in Sales & Marketing, or in a business related subject with specialised S&M qualifications
Excellent spoken and written English; spoken/written Arabic an advantage
Valid Bahraini driving license
Minimum of 5 years in a Sales & Marketing management role
Minimum 3+ years experience in the liquor industry
Proven success in managing, developing & motivating staff
