Job Description

We are seeking a Master Agreement Negotiator to join our Dubai based Wholesale Banking Legal team. This is an interesting role liaising with our front office on a wide range of transactions. You will be working on a variety of documentation such as ISDAs and GMRAs.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

-Ensuring that whatever documentation is required to support the global trading activities of SCB is obtained, i.e., ISDA, GMRA, executed and updated in order to promote the smooth running of the business whilst maximising protection from bad debt.
-Ensuring wider corporate finance documentation is in place (e.g. mandate letters and confidentiality agreements).
-Assist with review and approval of constitutional documents.
-Ensure adherence to the Banks documentation policies.
-Ensure the integrity of records by performing essential control functions.
-To handle enquiries from customer both internally and externally.
-To coordinate the documentation of SCB's collateral policies and methods. To ensure that the bank aligns its processes in these activities in order to gain maximum legal and regulatory benefits and minimize exposure to risk.
-Continuous review of all daily processes to improve the service provided and enhance controls.
-Ensure control and audit requirements and adhered to.
-Attend meetings on behalf of the department as required
-Attend meetings and working groups on behalf of the bank as required.
-To act as mentor to junior negotiators in the Global Markets teams.
-Drafting and negotiation of documentation from straightforward vanilla agreements through to more complex and senior documents.
-Ensuring quality service standards to both internal and external customers and to maintain consistency of approach
-Provide timely review of all ongoing documentation and outstanding files.
-Work closely with front office and credit to ensure sound, appropriate documentation is put in place.
-Assisting the FM Legal team with legal queries and Trading floor cover.

Qualifications & Skills

-Thorough understanding of the ISDA documentation framework
-Familiarity with other department roles and relationships within the banking organization
-Ability to understand the diverse SCB culture given the global nature of the products and customer base.
-The ability to handle pressure and conflicting priorities.
-Knowledge of the Bank's policies and procedures in relation to Global Markets and corporate finance documentation is advantageous
-Understanding of other documentation relating to developing businesses in the Bank, i.e. PSA/ISMA, GMRA, GMSLA, etc is preferred
-Arabic language skills a considerable benefit, but not an absolute requirement.
