Job description / Role
Job Purpose:
To carry out diagnostics, service and repair of franchised vehicles to the highest standards, including diagnosis of electrical and electronic problems.
Train, coach and develop workshop and service team members to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and ensure a first time fix is achieved for each customer.
As an Audi Master Technician, your Key Objectives will be:
To maintain skill levels and full awareness of all technology used in the vehicle range, attending relevant Master Technician training when required.
Talk directly to customers with any long term vehicle concerns and ensure that all work is carried out in full and followed up until resolved.
To be fully conversant with all manufacturer technical literature and information bulletins and ensure that this information is passed out and understood by all technicians. Identify training and development needs within the workshop team.
Liaise with Service Manager / After sales Manager to quality control all work undertaken by the workshop team.
To hold and attend regular meetings to ensure that any workshop concerns or ideas are recorded and reported back to the relevant persons.
To coach and develop other technicians within the workshop.
The successful candidate will be a Master Technician working within a Volkswagen Group franchise (ideally Audi).
Requirements
Degree / Diploma in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering. Degree / Diploma in Business Management will be advantage.
Knowledge of: current automotive technology, in such areas as fuel control systems, electronic systems, automatic transmissions, engines, suspension system, and anti-lock brakes; General Motors/Ford Motor specialty, i.e. chassis, drive train, electronic fuel and emissions, computer communications equipment.
Ability to: provide technical assistance and support to dealership and service personnel; exercise appropriate platform and training skills in order to successfully instruct automotive training participants; relate with potential clients and groups; technically upgrade oneself through individualized study, as well as group methods; drive, including a one ton truck; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.
