Material Estimation Engineer

Job description / Role

To co-ordinate and undertake the review of long lead equipments and major procurement packages for a given tender and to assist in the pricing process of these packages.

Review of tender documents related to long lead equipments and major procurement package to ensure all systems and components are included and to identify any difference to tender requirements and raise queries against specification

To identify areas requiring more information to ensure the company is positioned to win and secure bids.

To co-ordinate and undertake the preparation of RFQ including specification documents to submit to vendors / suppliers for quotations of cost / price of equipment / packages and evaluate same against tender specifications to include in final tender documentation.

To prepare price comparison sheets for all offers from vendors / suppliers and to recommend one of them

Requirements

Degree in an Engineering Discipline [Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation]

Knowledge in tendering procedures

Data analysis and tender review experience

Drawing interpretation and sketches

8 years related work experience as a discipline engineer, project management, materials costing and purchasing, tendering and specification for projects
