Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our prestigious global client desires an experienced storeman with forklift driving duties required as part of a small flexible supply chain team, supporting the operation and maintenance of Military training aircraft at an Air Force Base. Reporting to the Supply Support Manager the Material Handler will undertake a range of general stores and material handling activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring efficient and accurate receipt of materials/goods from vendors and updating the SAP system on a daily basis
• Ensuring all none compliant deliveries are reported and the correct action is taken as per company procedures
• Pack repair and overhaul parts for external shipping; selecting appropriate packaging materials and ensuring compliance with the packaging requirements
• Validation checks
• Ensure all material issued are in accordance with first-in/first-out basis (FIFO)
• Operate a counterbalance fork lift on an as required basis; this will require you to work independently to load/unload delivery vehicles
• Carry out routine daily checks on counterbalance fork lift and other manual handling equipment
• Assist in conducting periodic cycle physical count / annual stock taking
• To ensure that where required goods are stored according to the suppliers/manufactures instructions
• Transportation of locally purchased materials from Doha to Al Udeid Air Force Base on an as required basis using company transportation,
• Conduct storage maintenance of aircraft components as directed by the supervisor,
• Ensure effective housekeeping of the general maintenance stores area, ensuring equipment is protected, clean, clearly identifiable and secure
• Produce, control and maintain paperwork associated with military goods export and local Customs requirements
• Any other duties or functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

Required Experience & Competence:
• Minimum 4 years experience in store keeping or stock control being conversant with receiving, storage and procedures for all types of stores,
• Minimum 2 years fork lift driving experience,
• Fluent in English both written and spoken,
• IT/PC literate demonstrable experience in using computerised inventory systems and MS Excel.
• Full driving licence with own transport (Transport to and from the Air Base is not provided)

Desirable Experience & Competence:
• Knowledge of Arabic,
• Experience with SAP (MM),
• Aerospace or military stock control experience or a background in engineering,
• Certification in IMDG & IATA Dangerous Goods by Sea & Air,
• Awareness of ITAR/EAR process,

Person Spec:
• Should the candidate be presently employed in Qatar, he must submit a No Objections Certificate (NOC) as required for the transfer of sponsorship,
• Good physical condition, ability to lift up to 35 kg. items
