Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Material Inspector Lead will ensure safety and lead in the development of the material inspection process for the SChem Plant. The Material Inspector Lead will focus on Quality Assurance and Quality Control inspections that align with reliability best practices, and develop and follow a documents program that track certificates. The position will also require the use of PMI (Permanent Material Identification) equipment for proper material inspections.

The successful candidate will be an advocate for safe work and housekeeping practices, be proficient in required computer skills, a self-starter/self-motivator and capable of working and communicating effectively with others.
- Preform Quality Assurance and Quality Control Inspections
- Develop and update a Quality Assurance and Quality Control process for tracking a material rejection process.
- Ability to Verify & Inspect Non Stock and Stock Materials
- Ability to Verify & Inspect Repairables items
- Ability to Verify Repairables vendor certifications
- Proper knowledge of materials identification and equipment specifications. (i.e. packing, gaskets,)
- Perform PMI inspections as per the plant specifications
- Implement proper equipment preservation process
- Proper usage of specific tolerance equipment for exact measurement, (i.e. micrometer, calipers,)
- Ability to verify drawing specifications and sectional breakdowns. (i.e. mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation)
- Verify out of specification materials for Overage Shortage Damage Return process.
- Work with craft planners on any repair issues

Requirements

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering)
- Demonstrate strong Presentation Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- SAP: 3+ years in SAP Materials Management and Plant Maintenance experience
- 5+ years in Warehouse and/or Maintenance experience
- Preferred 2+ experience in Reliability

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent leadership, interpersonal writing, and verbal communications skills.
