Job description / Role
Our client has been pre-qualified for the selection of the Consultant to cover the Engineer's role for the refurbishment of a Port in Eastern Africa (Tanzania). The modernization works comprise altogether some ~1.3km of quay line, construction of a new ro-ro terminal and dredging works for an estimated amount of 10-12 million m3 of material. They are currently preparing their proposal including identification of our construction supervision team for the required activities. The construction activities are expected to start early 2016.
Requirements
She/he must have a minimum of ten (10) years of cumulative experience in Geotechnical/materials matters related to Marine structures and works. She/he must have served in similar capacity on at least two (2) marine projects of similar nature in the past ten (10) years. In addition, she/he must have relevant international experience and a working experience of at least 3 years in developing countries. Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
As per Terms of Reference the staff engaged in the supervision of the construction works will be entitled to 30 days leave per calendar year. Construction supervision is expected to take 30 months. The staff proposed will -in case- have to confirm availability for the assignment and provide signed CV as per standard World Bank format and copy of highest education certificate. Please note that it is a WB bid where all the requirements/conditions as stated in each position have to be met and fulfilled; otherwise it will be a waste of time and efforts.
