The RoleThe RolePOSITION OVERVIEW: Performs a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline. The Engineer at this level has experience and an increasing proficiency in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and Company procedures. Typical project assignments are larger in scope, more difficult and varied than at the Associate Engineer level. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering) / CAD (computer aided design) applications. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable. Prepares standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials. Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses. Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Independently perform the role of QA/QC Engineer on the project. Must be well experienced in the review and evaluation of materials for road and bridge construction including soils, concrete, asphalt, bridge bearings, bridge expansion joints, prestressing strands, etc. |
RequirementsRequirementsEDUCATION & QUALIFICATION: B.E. (Civil Engineering) or B.Sc. (Geology) 12 years experience, of which at least 10 in medium to large-scale highway projects, in the review and testing of materials, soil, asphalt, concrete and bridge foundation works on comparable highway and bridge projects Must be experienced in the review of all materials-related submittals on comparable highway and bridge projects Must have a high command of written and spoken English Must have safety awareness and training Must have good knowledge of supervision procedures, record keeping, reports, etc. Must have full knowledge to perform technical reviews and evaluations Must have knowledge of international standards such as US, European standards and codes Must have ability to prepare technical reports Must be experienced in professional interfacing with the Client, contractor and his representatives |
